Vera
Don't be fooled, she's not as angelic as she looks - but she does love her friends to tickle her tummy.
Border Terriers are a lovely breed but if you are thinking of having one, be careful - you might end up with a 'Vera'! |
Graham
Vera and Graham are Betty and Colin's Border Terriers. Vera was born in 1997 and Graham in 1999.
Vera is a very stubborn dog and can't be trusted off the lead for her own safety. When she was younger, and off the lead, she almost gave Betty, her owner heart failure. She has gone through fences and onto the railway line just as a train was approaching..... climbed onto a kitchen roof.....chased police horses.....fallen into the river as a tiny puppy.....argued with a German Shepherd in the river.....joined in a game of football and refused to give up the ball......
Graham is different. He is usually off the lead and is generally well-behaved. Vera has been unable to influence his behaviour.......so far.

Twiggy

Twiggy the Polish Lowland Sheepdog belongs to Pat. The breed is supposed to be rather aloof in character but this is far from true in Twiggy's case. Pat's other dog is Merry, a Flat Coated Retriever.

Minnie and Poppy
Minnie and Poppy the dachshunds are mother and daughter. Minnie, in the front, is 8 years old and used to play with Vera when they were both young. Poppy is 6 and would love to catch a squirrel if she could run fast enough! They are owned by Sue and Ray.

Spud is a lovely little Jack Russell,pictured here with his owners Lydia and Maurice. Spud was born in 1999 and comes to the park every day where he loves to run around.
Bonzo
Bonzo and his owner Phil. They moved to Tamworth in October 2006 and send their best wishes to all their friends in the park.
Sunny and Pepi
Sunny the black poodle was 14 years old in the photo, but sadly died in 2006. His companion Pepi is 10 and lives with Sheila and John.
Penny
Penny is 13 years old but doesn't look it. She is a dachshund/Yorkie cross, and is owned by Gill, Sue and Marie.
Missy and Laddie
Missy, on the right, and Laddie are owned by Sheila and Alan. They were from Birmingham Dogs Home and even though they didn't know each other before, they settled down really well together in their new home. (Missy and Laddie have taken Sheila and Brian to live in a lovely pub in the country. Address is on the 'Local News' page)
Jade
Maurice says that when Jade came to live with him at 18 months of age 3 years ago, she had been beaten, starved and was four hours away from death. She weighed only 11 kg. then and now weighs 31kg. He says she is the best dog he has ever had.
Cindy
Cindy the Jack Russell is walked by Roger for her owner.
Cindy often goes for her walks with Jade and they get on excellently together.
Yorkies Logan and Angel are brother and sister and are 4 years old. They belong to Joy, and are walked in the park by her mum Brenda.

Bully
Bully is an English Bull Terrier, born in 2000. He got his name because when Val first saw him he was pushing his brothers and sisters out of the litter bed.

Bessie
Bessie is a 15 year old border collie cross springer spaniel, who is an absolute pleasure to own. She lives with/puts up with.........
Megan
Megan is a very lively, very loving 5 year old liver and white
Kaia
Kaia is a Large Munsterlander and is one year old. You can see a video of her playing in the river here
Loki
Loki is the newest member of Bessie, Megan and Kaia's family. Like Kaia, he is a Large Munsterlander and is 8 weeks old in the photo.
Buster
Buster the ShihTzu is 9 and is owned by Kate and John. He loves to meet his friends every day in the park.
Sukie
Sukie the Yorkshire Terrier is one of Buster's special friends. She is a very sweet little dog and is owned by Anne-Marie
Dudley and Lester
These cute Jack Russell pups belong to Kate's nephew John and his wife Diane. They are looking forward to visiting our park with Buster and making new friends.
Sofi
Sofi is a Glen of Imaal terrier and is walked in the park by Irene. Sofi is 8 years old and is owned by Lorraine, Irene's daughter.
Geordie
This handsome chap is Geordie and is owned by Bob. Geordie is 4 years old and full of energy.
Sally
4 year old Sally loves to play with the other dogs. Her owners Irene and Dave had her from the Birmingham Dogs Home.
Sapphire
Sapphire is a 12 year old Lurcher who walks regularly in the park with her owners Sheila, Steven and Adam.
Larkin
Larkin is a Saluki x Lurcher and is 3 years old. He was rehomed from the Dogs Trust by Jenny, who says that he is the perfect dog......apart form his habit of eating tables!

Sam
Sam is a Gordon Setter and is owned by Connie. For some unknown reason, he loves Vera and she is very fond of him too. Sam is 7 years old.
