SWAN - sad news - Friday 11th July 2008
The swan had to be put to sleep today. His leg had been dislocated and the vet was unable to put it back in position, even by pinning it. It is very sad that such a beautiful bird has died like this.
Please keep your dogs under control when they are near wildlife in the park.
Parrot lost -
African Grey parrot escaped from her home in Great Barr on Monday June 30th. Any sightings, please phone 0121 356 9501
Swan - latest news - Sunday 6th July 08
I spoke to someone at the Swan Rescue today who told me that our swan is recovering well. He is still having problems putting his weight on his leg so will remain at the rescue until he is better.
Many thanks to all who gave to the collection, £140 so far.
SWAN ATTACKED - THURSDAY 19th JUNE 08
I received the sad news that the male swan had been attacked by a dog and had been taken to Wychbold Swan Rescue together with his family.
Please keep your dogs under control, especially when they are near wildlife in the park.
The swan was defending his family and didn't stand a chance against the dog.
If you would like to make a donation to help the work of this voluntary rescue, please see Betty

photo taken when cygnets were about 1 week old.
